Lucioles

Wake the fireflies,
light up the meadow.

A cozy logic puzzle game based on the Akari brain teaser: wake the fireflies to light up every corner of the meadow. Pure deduction, no guessing, quick sessions.

✦100% deduction ✦No guessing ✦Hundreds of levels
Lucioles gameplay: a nighttime meadow grid where fireflies light up the tiles.

A pure logic game. No luck involved.

A puzzle mechanic that's simple to grasp (the classic Akari brain teaser reimagined as a night meadow), with deduction that deepens level after level.

🔆

Light up the meadow

Wake a firefly and its light travels in a straight line across the four directions.

🧩

Pure deduction

Always one unique solution, never guesswork. A real brain-teaser that rewards observation, not luck.

🌙

A little break

Cozy puzzles, at your own pace. Short sessions, a soft nighttime mood, zero pressure.

How to play: the rules in 30 seconds

Lucioles follows the rules of the Japanese puzzle Akari, also known as Light Up, dressed up as a meadow at night.

1

Wake a firefly

Tap a meadow tile to wake a firefly there. Its light instantly shoots out in a straight line in all four directions.

2

Stones block the light

A stone stops the beam. Stones carve up the meadow and make every grid different from the last.

3

Count the numbered stones

A stone marked with a number wants exactly that many fireflies touching it: no more, no less.

4

Two fireflies never see each other

No firefly may light up another one. The whole meadow lit, without a single conflict: the level is solved.

Every grid has exactly one solution, always reachable by reasoning: you'll never have to guess.

Puzzles to light up, level after level

Hundreds of generated grids, from the gentlest first level to expert brain teasers.

Easy level: light up the meadow by placing fireflies.
Medium level: observe, deduce, illuminate each new challenge.
A little break: cozy puzzles at your own pace.

Frequently asked questions

Everything people ask us before downloading.

Is Lucioles free?

Yes. The game is free to download and play on iOS and Android. A one-time purchase removes the ads, but no level is ever locked behind a payment.

What is an Akari or Light Up puzzle?

A classic of Japanese logic, published by Nikoli: light up a whole grid without any two lamps ever seeing each other. Lucioles builds on that proven logic and gives it what paper never could: thousands of grids generated and verified one by one, a difficulty that rises at your own pace, a meadow that lights up under your fingers, the Meadow of the Day and weekly leagues.

Do I ever have to guess?

Never. Every grid is verified before it reaches the game: the solution is unique and fully deducible. If you're stuck, there's still a deduction to find, and the Hint button will point it out.

Do I need to be good at logic to start?

Not at all. The first levels take seconds and teach you the mechanic without a word of explanation. The difficulty rises gently, and the Hint button shows you the next move whenever you get stuck.

Is there a daily challenge?

Yes, the Meadow of the Day: a brand-new grid every day, the same one for everyone, with your time compared to other players. Weekly leagues separately rank players by the points they earn during the week.

Which devices can I play on?

On iPhone through the App Store and on Android phones through Google Play. The game is translated into English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese.
